The Dale of Norway 1994 Sweater is a redesign of a classic that was designed as the official Olympic sweater for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. A traditional warm Norwegian wool sweater with symbols and figures from Nordic mythology.
The knitting pattern shows Frøya, the goddess of love and fertility, with the ability to foresee the future. Also Odin, the most powerful and wisest of the gods on Sleipner, the fastest horse in the world. The 2 birds Hugin and Munin, who symbolize thoughts and memories. And Yggdrasil, the evergreen world tree that keeps the whole world alive, with branches that grow to the sky and roots that reach into the underworld.
