The Icelandic company Icewear has been around since 1972. They started out modestly: with a small factory for the production of knitwear in Hvammstangi, a fishing village in the north of the island. For the first ten years they concentrated on producing clothing from Icelandic wool, which was then sold by other companies. But in 1984 they took the plunge and founded their own brand, ICEWEAR. The Icewear collection is made for people who want to be active outdoors without being limited by the weather. The combination of traditional Scandinavian style and modern material constructions such as in the Norwegian Windstopper sweaters creates a beautiful collection for use in the snow or for a cozy evening at home. The Icelandic manufacturer is well aware of the advantages that wool offers compared to other materials due to the traditional wool processing in Iceland and the harsh climatic conditions on the island.
