This extremely warm merino top for men is double-sided and can be turned to a smooth or a ribbed side depending on the temperature and activity level. With a fabric thickness of 400g/m², the Aclima Streamwool Crewneck clearly belongs in the expedition or extreme weather conditions category. As a thick first layer, it functions as a kind of "auxiliary heater" and is therefore not only suitable for winter sports in double-digit minus temperatures, but is also the first choice for professional use outdoors, as it provides excellent heat retention even when inactive for a while.
The ribbed side worn inwards creates additional warming air cushions and is recommended in this direction to achieve maximum heat efficiency. During greater physical exertion, however, the ribbed side is turned outwards, creating a larger surface area and thus a suction effect for sweat to the outside (capillary effect). A thinner insert under the armpits protects against the feeling of overheating.
